How to Avoid Hunched Over Laptop Syndrome with Chiropractic Care & Advice
Laptops have been blamed for causing chronic back, neck and shoulder problems. In this conversation a fellow chiropractor speaks to this issue and relates an actual case of a patient who developed severe chronic neck and shoulder pain after 6 months of switching from a regular workstation and desktop to using a laptop. This is short and to the point. Her pain was alleviated completely following his advice and after a short period of chiropractic care.
Standard advice: Follow the same practices you would use for a regular workstation with a desktop. Your laptop screen should be roughly level with your eyes. This can be done easily by using a regular computer desk or table and purchasing an ergonomic separate keyboard. Use the laptop as the "monitor". You can avoid what is being termed "hunched over laptop syndrome" quite easily.
